Summary:
“Medieval story with knights, goblins, mages and castles.“

Review: (Spellmonger)
Minalan is a smart wizard who isn’t afraid of large amounts of alcohol. He likes women and has no problem getting his hands dirty when fighting. Fair warning: a lot is lusting after women in the series overall. This also includes a sex-positive female wizard who researches sex magic. With this knowledge, do what you will. Now, on to the magic. I like it for the most part. It has a strong set of rules and defined limits. Which makes the workarounds Minalan, the spellmonger, comes up with clever and interesting. This is the basic good vs. evil plot. Evil goblins invade, and the good guys have to survive. There are hints that the bad guys have some justification, but that isn’t the focus.
My Opinion
It’s a good book. I recommend it. It’s action-focused, so the pacing is quick. It is a considerable time investment, though. If you like long epic series like The Wheel of time, you’ll enjoy this.
